PROJECT INFORMATION
Public & civic new build in Copenhagen
Fabula kulturhus - when the area’s resources become part of its new story. The Community House at Grønttorvet is designed as an open gathering place for the neighbourhood, providing a setting for communal dining, social activities and an orangery supplying herbs and vegetables to the kitchen. The project is based on a resource-conscious approach, preserving and integrating materials from the former industrial site into the new architecture. Concrete elements from Grønttorvet’s original buildings have, among other things, been cleaned and incorporated into the new structure, allowing the history of the area to remain visible. As part of the project’s material strategy, a:gain supplied Hjælmø end-grain wood flooring and Dybø acoustic solutions, complementing the building’s focus on secondary resources and contributing to the setting of the new community hub.
