PROJECT INFORMATION
Public & civic new build in Copenhagen
FælledLab - a building laboratory for the future of Fælledby. FælledLab has been developed as a project office, visitor centre and building laboratory for the new Fælledby neighbourhood in Copenhagen. The building provides a setting where new approaches to construction methods, materials and resource use can be tested and experienced in practice before potentially being implemented across the wider development. A large part of the structure and interior incorporates materials from the former hostel on the site, including steel elements, timber beams, doors and windows that have been preserved and integrated into the new building. As part of FælledLab’s focus on secondary resources, a:gain supplied Funderø parquet flooring, contributing to the building’s material choises and supporting its ambition to explore new ways of building with existing resources.
