CO2e Footprint Calculator

Calculate the real impact of your next project

Use the CO₂e Footprint Calculator to estimate how much discarded material you prevent, and how much CO₂e you save, when choosing Viddø window elements instead of conventional façade glazing systems. This helps you document sustainability benefits in tenders, DGNB submissions, and client presentations.

Sustainability

See how Viddø makes a sustainable difference

Viddø is developed around a simple principle: high-performance materials should not become waste due to minor visual deviations.

The insulated glass units used in Viddø retain full thermal and structural performance but would normally be discarded because they do not meet strict aesthetic standards. By integrating these units into a documented façade window system, Viddø reduces material waste and lowers the project’s total CO₂e footprint - without compromising performance, compliance, or warranty structure.

The system is supported by verified environmental documentation, including an EPD and EU Taxonomy compliance, enabling projects to document climate impact in LCA calculations and certification schemes such as DGNB.

Viddø Production Process

1. Collection of discarded glass

High-performing insulated glass units (IGUs) that would otherwise be discarded due to minor imperfections are collected for reuse.

2. Sorting & ID tagging

The collected glass units are carefully sorted and digitally tagged to ensure full tracking and traceability throughout their lifecycle.

3. Digital arrangement

With the help of digital tools, the glass panels are arranged like a puzzle, ensuring every piece finds its best use - delivering unique aesthetics while making full use of existing materials.

4. Production

Our partner Krone Vinduer assembles the glass into window elements, tailored to the chosen material and finish.

5. Installation

Viddø is delivered on-site and installed just like any other standard window element, making it simple and familiar for contractors to work with.

6. Demounting

When a building is renovated or demolished, Viddø is designed for easy disassembly and can seamlessly re-enter our take-back system for reuse.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Covers available window sizes, structural limitations, expected variations in reused units, pricing parameters, design validation before order, and the typical share of reused IGUs in a project.

What sizes of windows can you deliver? What’s the optimal window size?

We can deliver windows in all sizes. The optimal window size is roughly 2.7×4.2 m.

Is the wall a supporting construction element, i.e. can it hold weight?

No, the modules are not intended to bear weight. They are mounted after the supporting elements are in place.

What kind of defects can appear on the windows?

The window size and depth, the profile type, the finish, the amount of doors and openable windows, and other customer-specific needs affect the price.

What parameters influence the price?

The price is influenced by the window's size and depth, the profile type, the surface treatment, the number of doors and operable windows, as well as other customer-specific needs.

Will I see the design before I make up my mind?

Yes, we will always provide you with 2-5 different layout options and verify the design with you before placing an order.

How many of the glass units are discarded? Will I see the difference between the virgin and discarded IGUs?

The amount of reused windows will depend on hole and available glass. Around 70% is to be expected. This will also be communicated when reviewing different layout options. For a higher percentage of reused windows – please reach out early in the project and leave some room for flexible sizing. If we can define the hole in the projects facade from the available windows, rather than the other way around, very high percentages are possible. The reused windows can be identified on their original small branding and marking. Visibly from afar, the most prominent quality is that the windows can have different colour finishes, resulting in a facade that from some angles display a play of different tints in the windows. This is noticeable in specific light reflections.

Customisation

Explains layout flexibility based on available stock and how we develop 2–5 design proposals together before finalising the facade composition.

Can I design my own layout?

No, you cannot design your own layout as the windows we have in stock vary over time. However, we’ll always include you in the design process and make sure we find a solution that you’re happy with. Typically, we’ll provide 2-5 different layout options that you can choose between.
